Does Medicare cover Navigate Care in Vermont?
Medicare is federal, so the same rule applies in every state: Medicare Part B may cover Community Health Integration services for eligible patients when practical challenges are affecting their health or access to care. The Part B deductible and 20% coinsurance apply unless secondary coverage pays them. We check your coverage and explain any expected cost before services begin.
My parent has Medicare and Green Mountain Care (Vermont Medicaid). What will they pay?
Patients with both Medicare and Medicaid usually pay nothing for Navigate Care, because Medicaid covers the Part B coinsurance. We confirm this for your parent’s specific coverage before you start.
Does Vermont have an asset limit for Medicare Savings Programs?
No. Vermont is one of the states that has removed the savings test for QMB, SLMB and QI, so only income is counted. If your parent's income is modest, it is worth applying even with money in the bank; QMB pays the Part B premium and every copay, including any coinsurance for Navigate Care. Rules are for 2026 and change each January; Vermont SHIP (through the Area Agencies on Aging) can check the current figures with you for free.
Is there a PACE program in Vermont?
Not yet. As of March 2026 Vermont has no PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) organization. For a parent who needs nursing-home level care but wants to stay home, the route to ask Green Mountain Care (Vermont Medicaid) about is home-and-community-based services, and a Navigate Care navigator can help coordinate the doctors, equipment and support they have now.
How is this different from Vermont SHIP (through the Area Agencies on Aging)?
Vermont SHIP (through the Area Agencies on Aging) offers free, unbiased counseling on Medicare choices: which plan, which enrollment window, how to appeal. It is excellent and we often refer families to it. Navigate Care does something different: a dedicated navigator who coordinates your actual care over time, making the calls and following up. Many families use both.
Do you sell Medicare insurance?
No. Navigate Care does not sell Medicare Advantage, Medigap or Part D plans and is not paid by any insurer. We help you understand the coverage you have and use it well.
